- <p> Director Bob Zemeckis is hoping that no one will reveal
- the story of Death Becomes Her before it is released this
- summer. He needn't worry -- a plot this wildly improbable has
- to be screened to be believed. Set among the beauty conscious
- of Beverly Hills, the movie features BRUCE WILLIS, MERYL STREEP
- and GOLDIE HAWN in a bizarre gothic farce revolving around a
- magical potion that offers its imbibers youth and a body that
- literally won't die -- no matter how woefully abused -- thanks
- to some unearthly special effects that give new meaning to the
- phrase head spinning. "It's about the obsession that baby
- boomers have about aging," says Zemeckis, who is particularly
- pleased with the film's against-the-grain casting: Hawn as a
- scheming villain, Streep as a slightly flighty movie star. "My
- kind of comedy comes out of situations played very straight, and
- I've seen Meryl doing it better than anybody."
